Had an idea the other night (while in the shower, where I do my best thinking) that oddly, the name of the idea prsented itself as well. Usually it’s more like “the foo bar gizmo widget” idea.
Projective…
* is web-based
* is project management software
* uses flyspray as its engine
* takes tasks (and especially the due-in field) and enables you to bundle them together into a project, and sub-projects and phases (or versions)
* along with time estimates, begin date (and computed end-date), pre-requisites, and other resource-related fields, would allow you to create charts like gantt charts [1]
That’s about as far as I’ve gotten so far. I would want to do an analysis of what’s out there now as standlone software (e.g. MS Project) and web-based stuff so that I could decide what Projective would need to make it unique.
Nolan says I should research these:
* extreme programming’s stories
* scrum
* joel’s painless software schedules
Paul Jimenez says:
If you’re looking at Extreme Programming stuff, look at Xplanner
(xplanner.sf.net), which does Extreme/Agile Programming project
management.
