Behind on the blogs

Powershell

I haven’t had a lot of time lately to keep up wit’ mah news and it’s bumming me out.  Especially so as I’m expected to know it all as the co-host of the PowerScripting Podcast!

So anyway, if you’ve got some particularly juicy PowerShell stuff you’d like to see covered, please email me or comment on this blog post so that Jonathan and I can be sure to cover all the news that’s fit to…discuss.  :)

Also, I’ve been trying to use Del.icio.us as a tool to help track these things lately, so a third option is to tag whatever URL you like with the tags “powerscripting” and “todo”.  You can see what’s in the queue by going to the powerscripting+todo tag page.  :)  Of course add whatever other tags you want.  If you’re using Firefox, check out the del.icio.us add-on, it’s pretty cool and makes tagging webpages very easy.

Thanks for the help!

New PowerShell Plus features

Powershell Windows

This will be a quick blog post because it’s late.

Development has been rapid lately on the ShellTools team.  Check out these bits from the PS+ change log:

  • Added a separate input panel below the console. Press CTRL+I to toggle. ENTER will execute code inside the panel, SHIFT+ENTER will add a new line and CTRL+ENTER executes without adding a new line
  • Editor now supports code folding
  • Improved color highlighting in editor and added support for here-strings
  • Tools/Logging will write out a transcript of your commands to a text file

Check out the public beta of PowerShell Plus today!
