Guys, I’ve asked this before but so far–no reply. You guys really need to get with the movement here IMHO. I love Boortz, but I never listen to him on the radio anymore. I do read the Nuze almost daily, but that’s not enough! For the past year or two, when I’m in the car, I listen exclusively to podcasts.
- I specify the programming.
- I set the schedule.
- I can pause or rewind.
- Podcasts don’t fade under bridges, near power lines, or in cloudy weather like AM radio.
- There’s no endless repetition of irrelevant traffic reports! (Seriously, if you are already stuck in it, why does it matter?)
Also you have the opportunity to join your peers. A lot of great talk show hosts already have their daily shows “re-broadcast” so to speak, in podcast form. Dennis Prager is my favorite of these, but there’s many others. I think Townhall.com hosts a half dozen.
Tell your bosses that this is a new means of ad revenue! Snip out the existing ad breaks, then run new ones in front of each episode or here and there throughout. <snipped some further details on my own experiences here>
Please write me back, if only to say the management has no intentions on joining the Internet Age. Then at least I know if I’m wasting my time.
Thanks a bunch, I’m a dedicated listener, or at least reader.
