Coolness. I really like the concept of DesktopX and Konfabulator, but they aren’t very free. I’m really cheap. And this one runs off of .NET scripting, and that’s kinda neat. I haven’t installed it yet. I’ll let you know if it passes the 5-minute rule.
Kapsules is a free scriptable, whatever-suits-you application widget engine.
What’s a widget?
A widget is a mini-program designed to be, well, what you want it to be!
Kapsules makes use of Windows Scripting Technology, which allows it to use any language which is availible with an Active Script engine. That means you can use anything from VBScript to PHP to write a widget. Yeah! Even RubyScript or Perl! At current there are widgets being written in 8 different languages!Similar in many aspects to its source of inspiration, Konfabulator, it differs in many ways. Kapsules ceases its similarities with Konfabulator beyond its general purpose and function.

Linux version:
SuperKaramba/
Themes (”widgets” as they’re put in the Windows world): SuperKaramba themes on kde-look.org.
As far as I’ve noticed, most plugins are written in python, with a the touch of KDE libraries.
IceRAM, I don’t think that you can compare themes to widgets. Themes just look pretty. Widgets actually have code and can do something.
Thank you very much for posting on Kapsules

If I (or the community at the site) can do anything to give you a hand, pelase dont hesitate to let me know
I wish people would stop calling these things widgets…
