My Family was a Ford family, my grandfather worked at Ford in the 40's.
With our blind dedication to ford, we bought (in the 70's) a Galaxie 500 (Fix or Repair daily) a Pinto (Fix or repair daily). Both cars were "done" at about the last car payment.

...at this point I moved out and stayed far away from Fords.

Fast forward to my mom buying a Ford Taurus ( I love her, but she can be so slow to get it) As predicted, at 70k miles, a new transmission. She fixed it, but I implored her to never ever buy another Ford. The poor dear was so used to the Fix or Repair Daily ownership battles, she never considered his was not NORMAL.

She now drives a Dodge...not problem one.

You think that is bad, how about this:
Gee, and I thought I was alone out here. I just bought a 2007 F350 King Ranch Dually (14 November, 2006). The first day I got it, the entire instrument cluster died. They ordered a new one and installed it. Then, the idler pully on the front of the engine siezed and smoked the serpentine belt. They know about this problem, but alas NO RECALL. Then the turbine started making a LOUD SQUEAL. Amazingly they can't find the problem. The tires bounced so bad that at 30-34 mph you better not have a cup of coffee or it would be all over the truck (I showed them that I have to keep a towel under the cup holder just to catch spills). They said that under pressure did this. Now at 50mph, the howl is so loud you can't talk or hear the radio. Oh yeah, the CD player will intermitteltly reset to track "0" and freeze up. They say that they will look into that. They were also supposed to install a Rhino liner in the bed. Well, they have had it for the past "3" weeks, and still no bed liner.
Gee, I love to make payments on a BRAND NEW FORD that has been in the shop for 1/2 of the time that I have owned it, and oh yes, I still get to make the payments on it.
Am I alone out there?
Oh yeah, I purchased this fine FORD at Sunnyking Ford in Anniston Alabama, and they still have it, but I still pay for it.
